Today I’ll show you the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3. It has got a lot of unique features for this price group – and it is very cheap, you can get it for less than $280.
Then you take this phone in your hand it doesn’t feel like a lower price smartphone, you’ve got nice materials here. It is plastic, and the back is rubbed. The first thing you notice when you look on the front of this phone is that it got front facing speakers which are powered by JBL. This will give you a nice sound. On the left you will find the power button and the Micro-Sim tray. On the right side you got your volume up and down. On the top the 3.5 mm audio jack and microphone. And on the bottom you have your charging port and again a microphone.
Specifications and Software
You will look at a 5.5 inch display 1920×1080 resolution at 401 PPI. It is bumped up with the Snapdragon 615 chip which is a quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and you can expand it with a micro SD up to 128 GB. This specs will give you a great performance on the running software. The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 runs Android OS v5.0 (Lollipop).
You get a really nice camera on the back, a 13 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash. And they also have not skipped the front, where you get an 8 MP camera which you can rarely see.
This guy can run you hopefully all day with its 3000 mAh battery.
And here is a feature I have never seen on a phone before. When you make phone calls even if the phone is upside down. Upside down or right side up, no matter you will take advantage thanks to the speakers and microphones set up on the top and bottom.
The Idol 3 costs below $280. I think this the best you can get for this price group. It’s a nice phone, good display, good camera, good specifications, but cannot compete with the big dogs on the market like Apple and Samsung. So if you want a low-budget smartphone, go for it!
