The Apple iPhone 6 is a hit on the market. Let’s see why this phone is so special that over 10,000,000 people bought the new iPhone.
The new iPhone is bigger, thinner and overall more attractive iPhone than the previous iPhones came before. The iPhone 6 has grown considerably over the iPhone 5S.
The new phone features 4.7 inches display and it is just 6.9 mm thin. It’s much bigger than the iPhone 5S. The resolution has bumped up to 1334×750 which is finally above 720 P. Apple decided to give it a new name called the Retina HD Display and it is the best Apple iPhone display I have seen yet. Better contrast, better color accuracy.
The back of the iPhone 6 is redesigned entirely. It is fully made out of aluminum. It makes it look great and it feels even better in the hands.
Now the protruding camera is very questionable. I’m not really afraid of scratching but it is irritating when the phone is on a flat surface. Another redesigned feature includes the lock switch which from the top right corner to the right side. The volume buttons have been made thinner and longer for more ease of use and the speaker has been redesigned to look a little more industrial. In the heart of those changes is still the iPhone we know today.
The internals have been reworked as well. The iPhone 6 comes equipped with 1.4 GHz dual-core A8 processor alongside with the M8 co-processor and 1 GB of RAM. The battery has been pumped up slightly to 1810 mAh and the internal storage has been set from 16 GB to 128 GB models. We still find the touch ID at the same spot of the iPhone.
Also the same 8 MP camera, the same structure as the iPhone 5S camera, same number of elements and the lens, same aperture rating. The iPhone 6 has really freaking fast autofocus. I’m fairly impressed how the iPhone 6 takes the autofocus. Other improvements to the image quality come from the software like exposure manual control for example. Speaking of video the iPhone 6 is not have you 4K HD video recording mode. It’s the same 1080P. Slow-motion has been given a new framerate up to 240 FPS which can make with some interesting videos.
The iPhone 6 is running iOS 8. The performance of the iPhone 6 is not a lot faster than the iPhone 5S. The benchmark score shows that the iPhones 6 is slightly faster than the iPhone 5S, but that is really expected. I really could not point out the difference between the two. To me applications open around the same time, multitasking is just as fast as the 5S, everything is just about the same. If you are looking for a major upgrade you really won’t find it in the iPhone 6.
The last part of this review will be about battery life. The question is, has Apple finally made an iPhone that will last you a whole day. We know the iPhone 6+ has fantastic battery life but the iPhone 6 on the other hand well is not that bad actually it’s better than the iPhone 5S. In my usage I’ve been seeing from 4 and a half to 5 and a half hours of usage time, sometimes more, sometimes less with about 10 hours of standby and you’ll get through the whole day with 20% of battery life left.
So yes, the iPhone 6 is the best iPhone you can after the iPhone 6+ today, you won’t be disappointed with it. But if you are looking to switch from Android to iOS you won’t be impressed either. The iPhone is becoming a very interesting device to me because I am some of the Apple fan boy.
