Announced in January and released in March this year, the Asus Zenfone 2 brings lots of new stuff in the mobile market and is one of the most powerful smartphones available now. The smartphone comes in two models – with 2GB or 4GB of RAM, as well with Intel Atom Quad-Core on 2.3GhZ or 1.8GhZ.
What I also find incredible in this device is its design – the smartphone seems to be really thin, though the hardware it has. Let’s have closer look of the technical specifications of the smartphone:
Display
The display is a good one – 5.5” IPS with Full HD resolution. Covered with Gorilla Glass 3, the display is not bad at all.
CPU
The CPU is one of the new and powerful stuff this smartphone brings with itself. As already mentioned, the smartphone comes with two models, one with 4GB RAM and more powerful CPU, the other one weaker. The fact that the device is using Intel Atom CPU means that the performance should be outstanding, as Intel is known for producing power-save CPUs that give really good performance.
Design
What really surprises lots of us the design of the smartphone, who knew that such hardware could fit into such a thin smartphone? Also bearing in mind the nice surface quality and overall phone design, I think this is definitely an advantage of the device.
Extras
The phone is coming with a dual-sim functionality and some other extras, which make it a reasonable choice of many users. Unlike the iPhone 6+, this smartphone has a support for up to 64GB microSD and internal memory up to 64GB. Which maximum means 128GB, but being portable is an advantage for most.
Camera
Unfortunately the camera of the device is not of its strong sides, yes the back one is 13MP, secondary 5MP, but the sample photos say the quality is lower than usual and there is no option to make 60/120fps videos. The smartphone has a dual-LED, which kinda fixes the poor camera, but I would personally expect more, as this is one of the technically advanced device from Asus.
Conclusion
The Asus Zenfone 2 is obviously a really good smartphone showing us impressive design and really good performance. It has its disadvantages like any other smartphone, but still it brings some innovation – the smartphones using Intel Atom Quad-Core CPUs are not much at all and just because I am sure that the CPU from Intel is much better than the one from Samsung or Apple, I would recommend this phone if you are looking for a powerful smartphone.
The camera of course is not an advantage of the phone, but still capable of taking good photos. Some extras like microSD support are here, so the phone is not a bad choice at all. Unfortunately I am not quite sure what the price of the device is at this moment, which would be the last factor, that’s why I would say that if the price is really not that high for you when choosing a smartphone, the Asus Zenfone 2 is obviously a device to try out.
