Google have made a new better notebook, better specs, better performance and a lot more changes have been made to make this version better.

Chromebook Pixel 2 Review

Design

On the outside it’s pretty simple. It’s an all metal design nearly the same as last year’s. It’s weighted perfectly so you can open the laptop without the bottom of the laptop moving.
It has a slightly new keyboard design. All the special keys up top are a little bit lower. At all this is a very nice keyboard and supplies to type on for a long period of time. The trackpad is also new, it has built in gestures kind of like OS X so you can use a four finger swipe to review all your open chrome windows which kind of feels like real multitasking. Here the speakers are actually underneath the keyboard and it sounds like the sound is being muffled by the keyboard because it is. The camera is 720p webcam, it’s not bad, but at the same time is not really good.

Chromebook Pixel Design

Display

And according to its name the Chromebook Pixel 2 has an incredible display, very bright, very vivid, good contrast and viewing angles and 2560 by 1700 pixel resolution. And has an awesome touch screen too.

Chromebook Pixel Display

Connectivity

The Chromebook changed the charger for two USB c-ports one per either side. On the right side you get USB C-port and a SD card reader for more storage. On the right side you the other USB C-port and two full size USB ports and a headphone jack.

Google Chromebook Pixel

Chromebook Pixel Ports

The LED light

On the top you’ll find a LED light. It lights up 4 different colors (blue, red, yellow, green) when your laptop is on, which is pretty nice according to last year which was just yellow. And has a knock feature – when the laptop is closed you can just knock three times and it will light up the amount of battery life you have left, which is really cool.

Pixel 2 ChromeBook LED Indicator

Specifications

Chromebook Pixel 2 is powered by the latest 5th generation Intel Core processor, 8 GB of RAM, and Intel HD graphics. The amount of storage you get is 32 or 64 GB of flash storage. Because of these awesome specs, it’s actually really smooth.

Google Chromebook Pixel & Intel

Battery life

You can get up to 12 hours of battery life. And you can also get 2 hours of power for 15 minutes with the fast charging technology.

Chromebook Pixel 2 Battery

Conclusion

With this combination of specs, build, ports and price honestly this would make an awesome Windows or Mac machine. Performance is extremely good all the time, battery life is extremely good you can get 10 + hours as I said. So this is an extremely good laptop and I recommend it.

Top 4 Netbooks for 2015 http://reviewtech.info/top-4-netbooks-for-2015/ http://reviewtech.info/top-4-netbooks-for-2015/#respond Wed, 22 Apr 2015 23:00:41 +0000 http://reviewtech.info/?p=533 Discover 4 really good and cheap netbooks that are worth their price.

The post Top 4 Netbooks for 2015 appeared first on Review Tech.

]]>
My main laptop is in repair, all I got left is my smartphone, an iPad mini and a pink Lenovo netbook, which was only capable of watching movies (even facebook and skype were laggy). That’s why I did a short research to see how is the market going on this year when it comes to netbooks and decided to present you the top 4 netbooks in 2015 for me.

First I would like to give my opinion about how netbooks are useful and what their pros and cons are. Starting with the first main thing – mobility. Yes nowadays we have devices like the Surface Pro 3, which is really thin and powerful, but the netbooks are not going to be fully replaced this year.

During my use of my pink lenovo, that is 10.9″ big, I realised it was much much easier to take it with me in any room. I got an 14″ gaming laptop thinner than a coin, but still it could not beat the small Lenovo netbook.

Second thing is the price, a big factor for a lot of us. Netbooks are getting cheaper day by day, everyone who knows that he needs windows on a device with great mobility, he needs a netbook.

Not that long time ago the main problem of the netbooks was the performance, most of them were carrying slow intel atom or even slower amd dual core cpus, but now in the era where we have phones with up to 16 cores, the performance is not a big problem anymore. Of course this does not mean you can run the latest CAD software or connect 4 more monitors to your netbook. But let’s take a look at the list I have prepared:

Medion Akoya Touch-Netbook

For it’s price I would say this is one of the best netbooks I’ve ever used, because it had touch screen, AMD cpu and SSHD. With it’s small 10” size, this portable device could be really useful for people who need windows daily and want to care it with them.

Medion Akoya Touch-Netbook

Acer TravelMate 11.6”

Acer is one of the first companies that started producing netbooks, one of the devices that we all remember is the Acer Eee PC. They create a more advanced netbook, a little bit bigger, but with a quad-core CPU, which gives enough performance for such a small device.

BUY Acer TravelMate 11.6

Acer TravelMate 11.6”

Lenovo IdeaPad S205

As I already mentioned, my laptop is in repair and I got to use this pinky small netbook. Though it has no SSHD/SSD or quad-core cpu, this small netbook is alive for already 3rd year and still the battery last 3 full hours, the AMD does really great job and Windows was never re-installed. Of course I didn’t use this device all the time, it is just for emergency cases, but for me it is a really good choice for a netbook.

Lenovo IdeaPad S205

HP Pavillion Touchsmart 11

As the name already says, this 11” netbook with touchscreen display and Windows 8 is a really good partner in the small daily tasks. It has a Radeon GPU and AMD A4 CPU, which are not the most powerful ones, but still do the job. The display is with the resolution of 1366×768 which is quite good for a small netbook, but for its price, I would put this HP in my top 4 for netbooks.

BUY HP Pavillion Touchsmart 11

The variety of Windows laptops out there is almost endless. Unlike Apple, Windows operating system is featured on thousands of different products in different sizes with different specs. We’ve got it narrowed down here to three of the most popular brands that each offers a wide selection of Windows laptops.

Acer is a Taiwanese company that’s been around since 1976. As of 2015, they’re the 6th largest computer vendor in the world.
Founded in 1989, Asus is also a Taiwanese brand. They’re the 4th largest vendor, specializing in notebooks and ultraportables.
Lenovo hails from Beijing, China. Founded in ‘84, they are the number one personal computer vendor in the world with 19.8% of the market share. Number two, three, and five are HP, Dell, and Apple respectively.

All three of these companies have some excellent models on the market. That’s not to say that every laptop they make is a 5-star masterpiece, but all three of them are well regarded. Here we’ll compare three products from each and see which brand makes the best all around laptop computer.

For entertainment, the ThinkPad T470s can’t quite match the specs the other two high-performance laptops offer, but it does perform quite well. The Aspire is one of Acer’s most popular Ultrabook models. The touch screen matches well with Windows 8.1. With an aluminum body and Gorilla Glass screen, this ultrabook is lightweight yet tough. At less than 12.9 mm, it’s an incredibly thin laptop with very decent performance. Value wise, it’s not the greatest bargain on the market regarding specs, but it is still a very good option for mid-range Ultrabooks.

Specs:

If any product ever was, this is a Windows laptop equivalent of a MacBook Air.

The Lenovo LaVie Z 360 is one of the lightest notebooks in the world. At just two pounds, it weighs about the same as an average hard cover book but packs a snappy 5th gen Core i7. The LaVie is an NEC (Japanese company) and Lenovo partnership product. It features design from both manufacturers and presents a relatively original hybrid product due to its mix of features from each company. As a result, the keyboard set up is somewhat unconventional and can be hard to get used to. The LaVie Z 360 can be used as a tablet as well as a laptop and is quite thin and easily portable.

Specs:

This computer offers some basic features at a very good price. The Cloudbook is by no means a state of the art laptop, but it offers considerable value for the money. It weighs only three pounds and has a very long lasting 12-hour battery; this is due to its low voltage processor. For battery life and value, this is a fantastic budget option.

Specs:

 • Intel Celeron N3050 1.6 GHz

Today I will show you the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro. I’ll try to show you the good and the bad.

Design

The body is very thin, it features a metal top and bottom. The edges are sealed with rubber for more safety. On the sides you get all ports and buttons including the volume buttons. The power button being on the side can cause you sometimes turn it off accidently when using it as a tablet. The display is an LED backlit IPS. The colors are the way that they need to be, but we still need some more brightness.

Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro Review

Hardware

It features Intel Core M, which pack a lot of power for the computer uses. It comes with 256 GB SSD but you can customize it to 512 GB SSD. It has 8 GB of RAM, 4 cell battery that lasts you about 4 hours at the highest performance, and also has built in Bluetooth. The keyboard is island type with backlight. The touchpad is the best I’ve ever seen in a Lenovo. The camera is a 720 P that Lenovo uses in all of its models.

Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro - The Best Hybrid Laptop

Performance

The performance is a beast for everyday tasks. Regular desktop apps like battlefield are impossible to play on this Intel integrated graphics card. It can handle very light apps with its 8 GB of RAM. The functionality is perfect, no hack ups, no lags. You will be amazed how smoothly this thing works. I prefer using the laptop mode instead of the tablet mode.

Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro Hybrid Laptop

Conclusion

All in all I think this is a great PC, and it will fit your budget. For me this is the best hybrid laptop on the market !

Today we’ll show you the new HP ProBook 450. The new ProBook is a successor of a lot of ProBook pervious series. Let’s take a look at the new business guy on the market.

Design

The cover of the notebook is rubber covered which replaces the smooth finish from the previous models. It is hard to see fingerprints on it as well as the other parts of the laptop. I miss the metal design from the previous versions which gives a solid and luxurious design. The space for the hands has aluminum finish and the bottom by tradition is plastic. The HP ProBook 450 still looks great and is designed for the business environment. We don’t have to forget that ProBook is business series laptops. HP has maintained the advantage for the model to open the bottom cover with the battery sliders. It comes in black and silver.

HP ProBook 450 Review

Hardware

HP ProBook 450 is features 15.5 inches display with a resolution 1366×768 pixels with a matte finish for the display. We can expect not very good angle view and brightness levels for the display but the glares during work are gone. The keyboard is the typical island style but according to its predecessors it is a bit harder. Very good impression makes the spacious touchpad with its high-quality finish which gives fast and no problem sliding across the touchpad.

HP ProBook 450 Hardware

Performance

We still have the same combination between Intel processors and video card from AMD while the most part of the other companies use NVIDIA recently. It features AMD Radeon R5 M255 with 2GB video memory, Intel® Core™ i7-4510U (2-core, 2.00 – 3.10 GHz) and 8 GB of RAM. The amount of storage you get is 1 TB HDD with option for additional 128 GB SSD or 256 GB SSD.

Intel vs AMD

Connectivity

On the left side we find the DC-in for the charger, the vents, a VGA output, Ethernet and LAN port, HDMI and two USB 3.0 ports. On the front we have just the LED indicators and the SD card slot. On the right we find the headphones and the microphone input, two more USB 2.0 ports, CD reader and Kensington Lock system for locking. We don’t find nothing on the back of the laptop.

Software

On the market you’ll find the laptop coming with different OS – Linux, Windows 7 and Windows 8. It runs the OS smoothly, quiet and moderate temperatures but I don’t think that the business users will load this laptop.

Conclusion

You don’t have to be a business user to buy the HP ProBook 450. It‘s enough to have affinity for more simple design for the laptops able to get you through all-day without any problems. In this case HP has something to offer.

Ultrabook with two displays – Asus Taichi http://reviewtech.info/ultrabook-with-two-displays-asus-taichi/ http://reviewtech.info/ultrabook-with-two-displays-asus-taichi/#respond Sun, 29 Mar 2015 10:39:00 +0000 http://reviewtech.info/?p=315 Asus shows some innovation with the Taichi model. Learn why Asus Taichi is such a great device when it comes to design and innovation.

The post Ultrabook with two displays – Asus Taichi appeared first on Review Tech.

]]>
Asus has released an innovative ultrabook with two displays, which is a revolution in the market of ultra/notebooks. I personally think that this could be a great device, as the innovation here is a lot, but the technical specifications this device is coming with are not surprising. In fact most ultrabooks have really bad tech. specifications, but only the expensive ones come with Intel i7 and nVidia GeForce.

Here Asus tries something new, an ultrabook with two displays, which is an obvious innovation, but what is the purpose of it? Here in this video you can see more about this ultrabook and it’s purpose:

Here are the technical specifications in a closer look:

CPU

The CPU is usually the 3rd gen of the Intel i7, though there are models with i5. Here I would say I am not surprised, but still this CPU should be more than enough for the daily usage of the ultrabook.

GPU

The GPU unfortunately is an integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000, which is a big disadvantage here. I personally thought they would need a better GPU there, as the displays are two, but it seems the integrated one does the job. The only advantage here is that the integrated GPU is a power-saving one.

RAM

The RAM memory is usually 4GB DDR3, though the model can vary, but still the 4GB are a standard, though 8GB is the new trending one.

Hard Drive

Here is a good thing – the Ultrabook from Asus comes with a 256GB SSD, which should make the daily desktop usage even better, though the lack of sam RAM and GPU maybe.

Displays

The displays are as already mentioned two and they are both 13.3”. Both are IPS and with Full HD resolution, which gives a great display quality. We can’t expect 1440p or 4k displays, because the integrated GPU cannot handle them, still, the both displays are awesome.

Extras

The Ultrabook comes with the usual extras – SD Card Reader, USB 3.0, 2 cameras. Here are though some other bonuses – stylus, keyboard backlight and mini HDMI.

Conclusion

The Asus Taichi weighs only 1,56kgs which is great, bearing in mind it’s extra functionality of having two displays, the device is still lightweight. The design as you can see is also not bad, but for the price it comes with, I would expect more. But still the assembly is great and the materials are really top notch, which could be a good reason to buy the device, but still you need to have your purposes right and clear. Asus has really started producing great ultra/notebooks with great device designs, though some Apple fans might think they copy from them, I would say that the innovation Asus is trying to show cannot be compared for now, though it is not that successful at the moment. If you are looking to try out something new and of course you have enough money, Asus Taichi is what I would recommend to try – an innovative ultrabook with two displays, great design and some good technical specifications.

This is the new MacBook. Not MacBook Pro not MacBook air, just the new MacBook and it is insanely thin. Literally too thin to have normal batteries, too thin for any ports, too thin for a normal trackpad, even too thin for a back lit for the apple logo. I took a closer look at this traditionally new laptop and down here I will write my impression.

Design

This is the thinnest and lightest laptop I’ve ever seen. Its weight is 907 grams which is actually 400 grams lighter than the MacBook Air 13 inch. It’s just 13 mm thin at it thickest point, which is ridiculous. You pick it up and it’s kind of hard to believe there’s an entire machine in there. You can’t go this thin in a laptop. That is making some sacrifices and Apple has kind of kind to turn the sacrifices into features at least for some of them.

MacBook Design

Too thin for … not too thin for …

So first of all, as I said, it’s too thin for a normal rectangular battery cells, so they use contrary battery cells to fill out the space that make sense.

Next it’s too thin for the back lit Apple logo that you see in the rest Apple’s laptops, so you get a reflective one with no back light. This MacBook is also too thin for any sort of depth in the keyboard, so Apple keyboards, I mean, they didn’t really have much travel to begin with, but this new Mac keyboard has a new double sided key switch called butterfly switch, which are supposed to help with the typing experience and make keystroke fill even when pressing on edge the keys.

This MacBook is also too thin for ports. It has only one single USB-C port on one side and an audio jack on the other. So through this USB-C port you do both power and all your data so if you are charging your MacBook and you want to both at the same time you’ll have to use some sort of an adapter in fact you probably need multiple adapters. There’s no way around this one, this is the biggest inconvenience on this MacBook and if you ever need a plugin such as a mouse or a flash card reader, connect to a display it turns this elegant machine looking like an octopus with adapters for arms.

And the other thing this laptop is too thin for is a normal moving trackpad, so there’s literally not enough room to have a trackpad that I can mechanically click. So Apple has a large glass surface where the trackpad normally is, and they underneath it. They have vibration motor kind of the one you have on your mobile phone and it is a pressure sensitive surface so when you press a bit harder on it, it clicks. It feels exactly like a mechanical click from a normal MacBook trackpad. With this pressure sensitivity you also get something called forced touch. So it’s sort of like a third click action, like regular clicks than right clicks and then forced touch. So forced touch is more sort of like more info button. You press down hard on like piece of text to expanding at a dictionary definition or you can force touch on an address to get an Apple maps listing and etc. So you get the idea. You also use this to fast-forward through video in QuickTime, so the harder you press, the faster you scrub. I am pretty impressed how this trackpad works.

The thing this laptop is not too thin for are the pixels. Apple packed a high-resolution display in this MacBook and it looks really good. So good in fact that this laptop thought it was a touch screen for some reason. Have to say it is a Retina display and it comes in at 2304 by 1440 pixels on a 12 inch panel. It looks really sharp, really bright, very vivid, colors were fantastic and viewing angles are great. It’s an awesome display and even need to spend more time with it.

MacBook USB

Performance

So all to all clearly this is Apple sexiest laptop ever, no doubt bur mostly because how thin and light and portable it is. In fact reminds me that whole Ultrabook category. It’s rocking Intel core and dual core processor. Clearly it is not a powerful machine at all. You don’t expect to edit videos or photos on this thing. Don’t expect any graphic design. It’s really more a glorified tablet connected to a keyboard.

That’s really what the internals are actually a whole ton of battery. Its fanless so there are no moving parts and it’s silent and of course with no upgrade ability and a starting price at around $1,300. So it’s an awesome note-taking machine you know if the keyboard holds up students (like me) will like it. It’s supposed to have an 8 to 10 hour battery life with the typical web browsing and like I said very lightly tasks that is designed to do. So it’s really just for every people looking to kick back and have a super thin laptop to do whatever and I guess that’s Apple’s target. There are plenty of other thing like a complaint about is only a 480 P webcam on the front not even 720 P. And for an approximately $1,600 upgrade price you still get half a terabyte of storage and 8 GB of RAM and it’s still a dual-core.

MacBook Performance

MacBook Performance

Conclusion

People won’t be buying this laptop for the power, they’ll buy it for how pretty it looks and then they’ll deal with all the adapters and sacrifices you made there. So if you think about it keep in mind that this is the 1st generation product so keep the 2nd generation in mind because you know Apple already has.

This is one of the best Ultrabook non-hybrid Windows 8 touchscreen machine on the market. I will take a look at the new Dell’s latest Ultrabook business series the Latitude E 7440.

Design

If we look at the cover we see a beautiful carbon fiber design here is actually soft top finish but the entire laptop is actually metal. The traditional Dell logo is also here and it is actually made of metal instead of the standard plastic. The cover attract fingerprints at a certain degree but it is very easy to clean off. The front of the laptop dell kept it very clean. There is nothing here besides two speakers, but there are no ports here. If you turn to the sides it starts very thick on the back and gets thinner as you go forward. It is really a beautiful design to look at. On left hand side we don’t have much, we have the exhaust vents along with two ports, we have the SD card slot with holder and we have a smart card slot, which is great for business users. Taking a look at the right hand side we see I wireless on-off switch, we see a microphone slash, headset jack, USB 3.0 port and a Kensington lock port. On the backside we see a little bit more industrial design back here there are exposed four screws and they actually look really nice. On the back we have an Ethernet port which rare to find on Ultrabooks, we have another USB 3.0, we have a DisplayPort, we have HDMI and another USB 3.0 this one has on charging capability and finally the charging jack. Now the ports on the right hand side we like to call this fast access, because these are the ports you basically going to want to use most often. The bottom of the notebook is very simple, still metal, we have a large exhaust fan, we have the E-series docking port, so here is an business Ultrabook but you can plug right into a dock, Dell Latitude vents you should be very excited for that and we also have something else that you normally don’t see which is a removable battery. There are four rubber feet on the edges.

Hardware

When you open the laptop the first thing you are going to notice is a gorgeous 14-inch full HD display. This display that is included here is not the standard display, the resolution is 1366 x 768, this is the 1080P touchscreen display. Touchscreen is only available with this configure option. Taking a detailed look at the display we find it’s very vibrant other contrast is very nice.
The backlit keyboard on this notebook is also something I really enjoyed. The key themselves are fully sized there is not spacing between them, but they’re actually raised. The keys are cheaper and easy to replace so that makes a great for a Business Notebook.
The trackpad is a decent size it’s what we expect when there’s also a track stick included. But overall it’s really nice trackpad, it is a little bit sensitive but you can adjust that and work on that in settings yourself. The buttons of the trackpad are a little mushy either, but they are decent and not much to complain about their overall the keyboard itself and the trackpad are a very good combination.
By default include the Intel Core i3 processor or optional i5 processor along with the 256 GB SSD and 4 GB of RAM and comes with Windows 8 Pro

Dell Latitude E7440 Hardware

Conclusion

Overall looking at the machine we have e beautiful design. We have a great business Ultrabook and this is what you’re going for because of this gorgeous display. It is a bit expensive at about $1,800 for the i5. We have to remember this is a business machine. We have this metal design, these machines are built for long-term support and for rugged ability over multimedia features.
If you are looking for a machine that is not Windows 8 hybrid but does have a touch screen this is by far one of our favorites. It’s fun to use, it’s easy to use it’s great to use, it looks great, it performed well, it really there is no reason except for the price tag which goes a little iffy not to go with Dell’s latest Ultrabook.
