The next WWDC is coming up soon and there are new rumors on the next version of the Apple OS. The most interesting information is connected with iOS 9 and the optimization for older devices.

Apple will take the update to the A5 devices like the 5th gen iPod Touch, the original iPad Mini and the 3rd gen Apple TV, all which are still in sale. The most important is that it will be available to iPhone 4S, which is outside production. It is highly possible to be also available on the iPad 2.

If this is true, we will be witnesses at the most maintained operating system for all iPhone models till now.  By tradition iOS maintains up to four generations smartphones, but it looks like that the new iOS 9 will include maintain for all devices from 2011 till now – from the iPhone 4S to the feature device that Apple will announce this fall.

Also by tradition, the new updates for the OS have problems with the older devices – iOS 7 worked very bad with the iPhone 4, and iOS 8 was not much better with the iPhone 4S. To avoid this, Apple is obviously working on a new approach to update this time. They will offer a simplified iOS 9 for older devices and gradually activating additional features.

The Apple iPhone 6 is a hit on the market. Let’s see why this phone is so special that over 10,000,000 people bought the new iPhone.

Design

The new iPhone is bigger, thinner and overall more attractive iPhone than the previous iPhones came before. The iPhone 6 has grown considerably over the iPhone 5S.
The new phone features 4.7 inches display and it is just 6.9 mm thin. It’s much bigger than the iPhone 5S. The resolution has bumped up to 1334×750 which is finally above 720 P. Apple decided to give it a new name called the Retina HD Display and it is the best Apple iPhone display I have seen yet. Better contrast, better color accuracy.
The back of the iPhone 6 is redesigned entirely. It is fully made out of aluminum. It makes it look great and it feels even better in the hands.
Now the protruding camera is very questionable. I’m not really afraid of scratching but it is irritating when the phone is on a flat surface. Another redesigned feature includes the lock switch which from the top right corner to the right side. The volume buttons have been made thinner and longer for more ease of use and the speaker has been redesigned to look a little more industrial. In the heart of those changes is still the iPhone we know today.

Apple iPhone 6 - The best phone to buy

Apple iPhone 6 Phone

Hardware

The internals have been reworked as well. The iPhone 6 comes equipped with 1.4 GHz dual-core A8 processor alongside with the M8 co-processor and 1 GB of RAM. The battery has been pumped up slightly to 1810 mAh and the internal storage has been set from 16 GB to 128 GB models. We still find the touch ID at the same spot of the iPhone.

Apple iPhone 6 Hardware

Camera

Also the same 8 MP camera, the same structure as the iPhone 5S camera, same number of elements and the lens, same aperture rating. The iPhone 6 has really freaking fast autofocus. I’m fairly impressed how the iPhone 6 takes the autofocus. Other improvements to the image quality come from the software like exposure manual control for example. Speaking of video the iPhone 6 is not have you 4K HD video recording mode. It’s the same 1080P. Slow-motion has been given a new framerate up to 240 FPS which can make with some interesting videos.

Apple iPhone 6 Camera

Software

The iPhone 6 is running iOS 8. The performance of the iPhone 6 is not a lot faster than the iPhone 5S. The benchmark score shows that the iPhones 6 is slightly faster than the iPhone 5S, but that is really expected. I really could not point out the difference between the two. To me applications open around the same time, multitasking is just as fast as the 5S, everything is just about the same. If you are looking for a major upgrade you really won’t find it in the iPhone 6.

Apple iPhone 6 Software

Battery life

The last part of this review will be about battery life. The question is, has Apple finally made an iPhone that will last you a whole day. We know the iPhone 6+ has fantastic battery life but the iPhone 6 on the other hand well is not that bad actually it’s better than the iPhone 5S. In my usage I’ve been seeing from 4 and a half to 5 and a half hours of usage time, sometimes more, sometimes less with about 10 hours of standby and you’ll get through the whole day with 20% of battery life left.

Increase battery life iphone6

So yes, the iPhone 6 is the best iPhone you can after the iPhone 6+ today, you won’t be disappointed with it. But if you are looking to switch from Android to iOS you won’t be impressed either. The iPhone is becoming a very interesting device to me because I am some of the Apple fan boy.

The next phone from Apple, called iPhone 6S as it goes, from recent sources can feature improvements, as regards to the camera and its processor.

From recent sources, the phone will replace the 8 MP camera with a 12 MP. Also will replace the current A8 chip, and get the upgraded version A9.

For this upgrade is talking Ming-Chi Cuo from KGI Securities, who has good aspects around Apple.

Cuo says, that the successor of the iPhone 6 will get 2 GB of RAM and the new display technology Force Touch like the newly released Apple Watch, but giving better sensitivy, might as well differ lighter and stronger to use different functions.

This improvements will not only be exclusive for the iPhone 6S, says Cuo. According to him, the same specs can be found in the bigger 5.5 inch iPhone 6s Plus.

Alongside with the iPhone 6S we can expect the iPhone 6C.

iPhone 6C

Apple has not confirmed nothing around the iPhone 6S, but we can expect the device in September this year. Rumors say that the new phone will run the iOS 9, will have a stronger aluminum build, to prevent the last year “bendgate”.

iPhone 6 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4 – Battle Of the Phablets

Introducing on one side the new iPhone 6 Plus against the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4. With the announcement of the iPhone 6 Plus Apple is finally taking a big step into the phablet phone space and they definitely do have lots of stiff competition because Samsung has basically owned the space for a long time, with the Note line up. Let’s see how the iPhone 6 Plus stacks up against to the Galaxy Note 4.

Display

Because they are phablets, let’s begin with the display size. The iPhone 6 Plus has a size of  5.5 inches, meanwhile the Note 4 has a display size of 5.7 inches, so the Note 4 is 0.2 inches above the iPhone 6 Plus, and that is definitely going to come handy while watching movies, playing games and browsing the web and so on.
Let’s move on to the resolution of these phones. The iPhone 6 Plus is 1920 by 1080 resolution giving it a pixel density of 401 which is definitely not bad. But when looking at the Note 4 which is this phone’s competition, it is not even close because the resolution here is 2560 by 1440 giving it a massive pixel density of 515. So I think we can easily say that the Note 4 is the best phablet when it comes to the display both size and resolution. The Note 4 does pull ahead in this section.

iPhone 6 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Display

Build Quality

This would be an easy win for the iPhone over Samsung phone, because for long time Samsung phones have always been made out of plastic, and you know all the iPhones including the iPhone 6 Plus, have an extremely nice full aluminum unibody design. But Samsung has finally change this up with this new Note 4 because it actually implement actual metal going round the side of the phone, making the phone feel a lot more valuable in hand, and that is definitely a good thing. Although the back of the note still is that fake leather plastic design, meanwhile the iPhone 6 Plus is a complete aluminum body, but the plastic back does have some advantages, because you can replace the battery unit and it also gives you access to the expandable SD Card on the inside, allowing you to expand the storage on the phone up to 128 GB. None of these can be found on the iPhone 6 Plus. So when it comes to the build quality, I’m going to have to say that this is a tight because – yes, the iPhone does have the full aluminum body but the Note does implement metal on the side and it does give you full access to the inside of the phone, allowing you like I said replacing the battery and expanding the storage.

iPhone 6 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Camera

Camera

The iPhone 6 Plus has a new 8 MP camera on the back that goes down to 2.0 f aperture and it does implement a new center behind glass, that should give you combined with the new Apple A8 chip good looking photos. When it comes to video functionality, you can film in 1920 by 1080 resolution which is full 1080p video, and that is at 60 frames a second which is definitely good. You can also do slow-motion 720p video at 240 frames a second allowing you to have extremely slow motion video. And lastly the iPhone 6 Plus has optical image stabilization and that helps you to keep the camera still while taking photos and videos, ant it also has a 1.2 MP selfie taking machine.
Moving back to the Note 4. It is equipped with a 16 MP lens where it is going to give you a fantastic high resolution photos and videos. And speaking to video this is where the Note 4 really pulls ahead the iPhone 6 Plus, because it can film in full 4K resolution, and this means that it can film in 2160p in comparison the iPhone 6 Plus that can only do 1080p. It films 4K at 30 FPS but can also do 1080p video at 60 FPS. Just like the iPhone 6 Plus, this does have optical image stabilization built into the phone. It also has a 3.7 MP selfie taking machine, with a wide angle lens.
So to conclude this section, it’s obvious that the note does have a clear advantage.

iPhone 6 Plus vs Galaxy Note 4 Camera

Hardware

The iPhone 6 Plus has the new Apple A8 chip on the inside which is a 64-bit chip, which is supposed to be twice as fast as the iPhone 5S, meanwhile the Note 4 has the Snapdragon 805 CPU clocked in at 2.7 GHz and is a quad-core CPU, and it also has 3 GB of RAM. In the past basically all the iPhones and Samsung phones have been about even when it comes to speed, even know the specs are quite different, and that is what I expect this phones to be like. So even though they have extremely different chipsets, the overall speed is going to be about the same.

iPhone 6 Plus vs Galaxy Note 4 Hardware

Battery

All of the thing I just talked about are completely useless if your phone is dead. So the iPhone 6 Plus has a battery capacity of 2915 mAh which is definitely a high-capacity, but in the Note 4 the battery capacity is 3220 mAh. That is a difference of about 300 mAh and honestly speaking that definitely can make a big impact on the battery life of the phone. So once again the Note does have the advantage.

IOS vs Android

ios-vs-android

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 take advantage in most of the topics, but I will decide to buy the iPhone 6 Plus instead the Galaxy Note 4.

I will come up with 5 reasons why you should buy the iPhone 6 Plus. Everyone has its own reasons, its own opinions. These are mine.

Reason № 1 – Size

Size might be a reason why you might prefer the 6 Plus to the iPhone 6. Don’t get me wrong, it is a large device, 5.5 inch display that is full 1080p, you will take some time getting used to it but it is not for everyone, but as time has gone on I found myself reaching more and more for this 6 Plus over the 6. It does have some nice little software features, where some of the apps built in to help landscape mode, still waiting for some other app developers to hop on board for example like Twitter, but I’m sure we’ll see that in the near future.
As to the media like playing games, watching videos, browsing the net or even swiping through photos, I find myself reaching more and more of the iPhone 6 Plus, the iPad has almost become a bit of a dust collector

iPhone 6 Plus Size

Reason №2 – Camera Performance

For me a camera is a feature that either makes or breaks a smartphone deal. And I can say that the iPhone 6 Plus has hands down the best camera that I see on a smartphone today. I have been super impressed with the stills and even more impressed with the video footage. It does have the same 8 MP sensor from last year, however it does have improved optics.

iPhone 6 Camara

Reason №3 – Touch ID

There has been a lot of imitators on the fingerprint sensor to unlock a phone, nothing beats the 6 or 6 Plus. It’s been improved from the 5S and I can say I had a 100 percent success rate using the touch ID. I prefer using Touch ID over entering a password or drying in a pattern even when you are making app purchases, you use Touch ID to verify.

iPhone 6 Touch ID

Reason №4 – The Build Quality

The iPhone 6 Plus remains one of the best build smartphones on the market. When you pick up the device it just screams at high quality and premium materials. The back is made at all-aluminum, all unibody design available in three different colors, Space Gray, Silver and Gold. The front is all gloss and when you just look around at the ports they are expertly crafted, no mistakes it’s just perfect, as it should be for a 1000 $ fully unlocked. Other design feature is the curved glass found on the side of the device, we no longer have the chamfered edges and now when you run your thumb over the side you feel like on continuous piece, no brakes or physical gaps.

iPhone 6 Side

Reason №5 – Battery Performance

There’s no use in having the most expensive smartphone or the best smartphone on the market, if it just doesn’t last you all day and this was a huge problem with the iPhone 5S the iPhone 5 and even the iPhone 4. Finally here we do have a larger battery. It’s a 2915 mAh power battery and it does last you with any problems all day, maybe even two or maybe even three depending on the usage.

iPhone 6 Battery

These are my reasons why you should buy the iPhone 6 Plus. You decide if you will buy it or not.

Let’s check out 6 of my favourite and find the one for you. Check out down below for more info. I will introduce them in no particular order.

Spigen Neo Hybrid Metal

This case looks great and it comes just about a billion different color combos. The case is two piece design starting with a silicon housing as base for shock absorption and that paired with aluminum frame to help protect those edges. Volume buttons are nice and clicky easy access, but you do have to reach a little bit to hit that mute switch. On the flip side the power button is clearly labeled. It’s not as easy to hat as the volume buttons for example, but it’s still solid. Both the cut outs for the camera and the Apple logo and bottom ports are nice and clean, but do take not that the headphone jack and lightning port are a little deep. So just keep that in mind if using a dock, or having specific set of headphones in mind.

Spigen Neo Hybrid Metal

Speck CandyShell Grip

Like the name implies this case is grippy. As most of you are aware, one problem with the iPhone 6 design is slippery as hell, and this without a doubt fixes that. This case is downright solid, there’s great grip around the edges. On the sides you get the volume rockers and power button like a champ, and the mute switch cut-out isn’t as deep as the Neo Hybrid Metal, so it’s definitely a little bit easier to access. The cut-out for the headphone jack also isn’t as deep. So being slippery is why you complaint you’ve had about the iPhone 6, this is a great way to fix that problem.

Speck CandyShell Grip

CandyShell Grip

i-Blason Halo Series Hybrid Case

This one is for bumper style fans. This hybrid case gives you a bumper ask appearance with a ton of color options going around the edges, but still protects the back with a transparent backing. In terms of just a nice simple clean looking case this is one of my favourite. Is not part of the grippy cases but it’s super lightweight, including proper raised edges when you set your phone down. It’s simple, it’s cheap and it’s solid.

i-Blason Halo Series Hybrid Case

Apple Leather iPhone 6 Case

This one definitely isn’t the one most cost-efficient option, but I feel super premium because it is straight from Apple, it fits like a glove in just straight up feels nice. It also takes a slightly different approach in the other case we checked out so far, in the sense that the bottom of the iPhone 6 is completely open. So the negative side is going to leave your phone a little more prone to scratches in that area but on the positive, you have absolutely no problem with headphones of any kind. Another thing that I will say to keep in mind that this is a leather so it’s not gonna stay perfectly clean or new looking, so you should expect to get kind of warm rustic look to it over time but to me I personally take that.

Apple Leather iPhone 6 Case

Luvvit Clear Grip Case

This is another option that will add another serious grip to your phone. What I really enjoy about this case is the extra protection you’re getting around the corners, so for someone who is prone to drop their phone and want something that won’t break the bank but is pretty solid unique looking, this is a pretty decent option.

Luvvit Clear Grip Case

Spigen Wallet S

Last up on the list is another from Spigen. Just like the name applies this is a wallet case for your iPhone 6. Now unlike the Apple Leather case, this is synthetic leather. So it is not going to be nearly as expensive but actually as for right now. There are three slots for cards, ID’s and an open in the back seeking for some cash in there, but if you do pick up this case, please pay attention to speak in his directions. There’s magnetic lock on the case, you need to pay attention and insert your card with the magnetic strip on you card closest to the phone. If you do it the other way you run a chance to break your cards. This case has one more trick, you can use it as a kickstand.

You were expecting this particular versus but perhaps what Samsung has done with their brand new flagship smartphone this is more relevant than ever. This is the Samsung Galaxy S6 versus the iPhone 6.

Design

Samsung has promised an upgrade in the design language for the brand new Galaxy S smartphone and as exactly what they brought are probably the changes that we have been waiting for. Now we say that there are some influences obviously being here and now that I’m looking at the iPhone 6 versus the Galaxy S 6 I will say it – they do look a little bit similar such as since the metal around the rim as very similar to the iPhone 6 but its influence has also come from the Galaxy Note 4 especially considering the small edges that are raising up on the top and bottom of the middle frame for the Galaxy S 6 and the only real similarity that makes it pretty striking is on the bottom where you see the micro USB charging port, the headphone jack and even the speaker grill on the bottom, but nonetheless the Galaxy S 6 now has a metal frame and a glass panel construction on the front and the back and it is actually quite thin like I mentioned already but also very light, making it one of the better handling Galaxy S 6 devices out there.

And if you go around the back the main difference here with the Samsung Galaxy S 6 from previous iterations is its class backing of course which is also not removable. More human body design found here much like in the iPhone 6 but also its camera on the S 6 is protruding out quite a lot to might be a bit of a problem for those who like to slide their phones around tables for example. Apple has always had some pretty great designs and Samsung finally offers a flagship with the design language material choice. With the new metal design the two phones look pretty similar.

According to the display’s the iPhone 6 now comes with a 4.7 inch IPS LCD display that has a resolution of 1334 by 750 resulting in a pixel density of 326 PPI. Now Android is somewhat moving beyond the 1080 P spacing, going to the quad HD space. Not exactly what the Galaxy S 6 does with a quad HD display that at 5.1 inches has a pixel density of 577 PPI which is pretty insane. Super AMOLED though continues to offer what we love about it from previous iterations. Very deep blacks, vibrant colors are looking more vivid on this high resolution display and from what we’ve seen so far we really do enjoy it. The iPhone 6 display also get some pretty good marks, but with this lower resolution, but if you are looking for a phone with a better display you will take the Galaxy S 6 because it just simply trumps the iPhone 6 display.

Samsung Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6 Design

Performance

As always by the numbers look isn’t quite too fair comparing these two devices from two different ecosystems that provide very different performance experiences. That being said the iPhone 6 offers A8 chip which comprises a dual-core processor clocked in a 1.4 GHz and his is backed by 1 GB of RAM. But on the other hand the Galaxy S 6 is going to set a precedent in that is not supporting Qualcomm chipset, like many probably but Samsung is going to globally release this phone with an Exynos processor backed by 3 GB of RAM, and in-house processor that they are optimizing for their software and as such we should pretty much expect fantastic performance from the Galaxy S 6. In other hardware the iPhone 6 is available in 16, 64, 128 GB of storage but I was also going to be the case for the Galaxy S 6 which now does not come with a removable back at which you will not be able to expand the memory or able to replace the battery.

Despite the significant difference on paper both processing packages do a great job in handling the respective experiences, and fans of either have had nothing to complain about in terms of this particular aspect of this versus. In the camera department apple stays away from the megapixel race that dominates the Android world. Samsung has been able to create some pretty incredible cameras in the past for the Android world and we’re expecting it to be even better on this new iteration of the Galaxy S line. I won’t really have any real comparisons in terms of pictures until I get my hand on my own Galaxy S 6.

Samsung Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6 Performance

Software

We’re taking a look at two different ecosystems like I said before, at which time I also said that the performance on either these devices should be good for the users who decide on which one the want to back. That being said iOS 8 remains a statically similar to iOS 7. Many of the users who flock to iPhone will have a very familiar experience when going through their ecosystem. On the other hand Samsung provided a new look at their brand new TouchWizz which is an updated version. In the time I had making this review I didn’t see many extras in this new version.

Samsung Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6 Comparison Side Table

Conclusion

Now only in design the two devices are pretty similar. Display, especially performance don’t have nothing in common. With two different operating systems being backed by in-house processing packages. At this point and also  from my camera experience I hope you will see a very great looking photos from the Galaxy S 6. In my opinion i prefer the iPhone 6. The Galaxy S 6 is not bad and i can’t wait trying it out!

]]>
On September 19th 2014 Apple released the iPhone 6 and 6+ to the public. I will do a quick review of Apple’s biggest phone yet and obviously it’s best device until now.

Design

Starting off with the design. This definitely looks like an iPhone with the large top and bottom bezels as well as the home button it’s probably one of the Apples best designed iPhones yet. Although it is kind of slippery so I do recommend a case and also a screen protector. The aluminum body of this phone is definitely prone to scratches and damage and the overall thinness of this phone also makes it feel a lot more fragile. It can easily bend if you are putting it in your pocket. Without any doubt this is quite a big phone for many people but after a while you just kind of get used to it. The overall huge 5.5 inches Retina HD display with the resolution of 1920×1080 brings along a great viewing experience for things like reading, watching movies and browsing the web. It can be a great small tablet replacement. If you are still worried about the large size of this phone, Apple in a great future called “reachability”, which by double tapping the home button brings everything on the screen down to the bottom of the screen so you can access it a whole lot easier. This is definitely one of my favorite features of this phone, it makes using a phone this large a whole lot more enjoyable.

iPhone 6+ Review

Software experience

Let’s take a look at the software experience. The phone is running iOS 8. Despite it being the most buggy release of iOS it still runs really well on this phone with only a few occasional pickups. Using this phone daily, it just screams through all the applications, with the great amount of fluidity. Now speaking up to battery life this phone can get you through a bow two days of solid and heavy usage, and sometimes a bit into the third day. So battery life is definitely not a problem on this iPhone at least for me. Unlike the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6+ get the SPECIAL landscape mode which appears on your home screen as well as in some Apple applications and some third-party applications. You also get some functional keys on your keyboard. For such a large screen phone, I would like to see Apple took advantage of the huge amount of screen real state by including some features, like the multitasking, but nonetheless I do appreciate the small tweaks Apple made to the software

Hardware

The Apple iPhone 6+ features Apple’s A8 chip with 64-bit architecture powered by the M8 motion processor. The connectivity is supported by 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology which brings you 3x faster Wi-Fi and faster LTE up to 150 Mbps. Two of my favorite features are the Touch ID and the camera. The Touch ID sensor is a great way to unlock your phone and it’s a whole lot easier and safer than typing in a passcode every single time you unlock your device. Meanwhile the 8-megapixel rear-facing camera features optical image stabilization. It produces amazing consistent photos and videos every single time and I’m always impressed on what this phone can do. Videos can be shot to 1080 P in 30 FPS and 60 fps or the 120 FPS and 240 FPS to 720 P. Also with the bonus optical image stabilization with this camera on the iPhone 6+ and the software cinematic video stabilization you get a very smooth and excellent looking video shot every single time. And lastly for the camera with the dual tone LED flash and software enhancements you can get some great shots in low light as well.

Apple A8 and M8 Chip

The best feature of this phone is the overall consistency of its. The 6+ offers a smooth in consistence software experience, a very consistent camera, a great range of applications and a few awesome features that work very well. The phone isn’t perfect, but it does a lot right and it’s definitely Apple’s best iPhone yet.
