Both of these devices are some of the best smartphone Samsung has ever made, better than the Samsung Galaxy S5 nearly in every way. Between the two device, using them both for a couple of weeks now, I find it hard to recommend the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge over the standard Samsung Galaxy S6, no matter you are a tech enthusiast or just a casual user.
There are two reasons why I recommend the Galaxy S6 over the Galaxy S6 Edge
First Reason – Grip
This is the most significant reason. The Galaxy S6 looks really futuristic and premium absolutely but since both edges of the display curved around the side of it actually makes it really hard to get a good grip on the device. I mean we are talking about a few millimeters space on each side of the device for your fingers, compared to the Galaxy S6 which doesn’t have the curved display, but does have much more room to actually grip the device. You also have to consider the fact that the Gorilla Glass front and back cover makes this thing even more slick went on flat surface or in your pocket.
I did find that the Galaxy S6 is easier to hold and grip overall
Second Reason – Price
The other reason is due the fact that it is a hundred dollars less. No matter who you are, a hundred dollars is a hundred dollars whoever you are, and that’s a good amount of money. For a hundred dollars more you get a screen that curves around the left and right hand side of the device. You get the same resolution, the same display size, the same technology, it’s all the same except the curve. Technically the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has a slightly larger battery 2600 mAh as opposed to the Samsung Galaxy S6 which has a 2515 mAh battery, but you will not mention the difference. So you do get some unique feature with this curved edges on the Galaxy S6 Edge but they really are not very practical at least and you will not notice them after some time.
I would say – save your money. If you have a Galaxy S6 Edge I’m curious to know whether or not you still find the Galaxy S6 Edge features worth it, or if you use the at all.
