Today we’ll take a look at the newly announced LG G4. It looks like a lot the LG Flex 2. Let’s take a closer look !
Design
The design has a slight curve to it. It is not flex but the display glass is actually slightly curved. Holding it up is a pretty lightweight phone, not too big, fits in the hand well with the curve and has metal sides which are glossy. And it has its classic back (the power and the volume up and down buttons are still here), with a diamond pattern – it is not the best feeling material in the world but there are some other options. So there’s a ceramic back version which is white and glossy and the leather back version – you choose from different colors and textures. It does still have a removable back no matter of the back you choose. The removable back is becoming less and less common and might be the last smartphone with this extra feature.
Display
The display is awesome. It’s a 5.5 inch IPS quantum display coming with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and 538 PPI pixel density. Basically it looks amazing, it is quad HD so it is super bright, visible outdoors, very colorful, very good contrast and very very sharp. It is going to blow your mind. This display is surely in the top 5.
Specifications and Software
All the speed and everything is coming from these top notch specs – the Snapdragon 808, 3 GB of RAM. The amount of storage you get is 32 GB and you can expand it with up to 128 GB via the microSD slot under the removable back It is running the Android 5.1 with LG Optimus UX 4.0 on it.
Camera
LG said a lot for this camera and how can it be a DSLR replacement. The photos are really good, very sharp and pretty good colors and dynamic range in everything so I’m impressed with the G4 camera. It features f1.8 maximum aperture, 16 MP sensor, 3-axis optical image stabilization, laser autofocus and even a new sensor on the back called the color spectrum sensor which to put it simply I hope to better calculate white dots. By double clicking the power button on the back the camera turns on in under a second and takes a shot.
Battery
You get a 3000 mAh removable battery. Also you get wireless charging but not the fast charging technology. But with the removable back it will be easier just to pick up an extra battery and swap them.
Conclusion
I’m pretty excited from this phone. Excellent display, excellent camera, excellent battery, a big feature – removable back. Good job LG ! It is ways better than the previous G versions.
