A lot of manufacturers started creating smartphones especially for taking selfies – HTC, Nokia and now Sony as well. With a 5mpx front camera having 25mm wide angle lens, the smartphone focuses on taking auto portraits. The phone has really stylish design and a lot of camera features, just like the Xperia series, but now a little bit more advanced for the selfie fans. Here are the technical specifications of the smartphone:
Display
The display is a 5.5” full hd IPS one, the maximum size for a device I would put in the smartphone category, not in the phablet one. Still having a resolution 1020x1920px is not bad at all for such device.
Camera
Though the front camera of the LG G4 is 8mpx, the one from Xperia C4 has a better sensor and lens (as far as I am informed). Every photographer would agree, that man needs no more than 4 or 6 MPx, if only the sensor and lens had perfect quality. Most of the manufacturers cannot build or afford good quality lens or camera sensors, therefore they count on megapixels, which is a pure marketing trick. Now here is the big “boom”, the front camera has optical image stabilisation, which no one from the big manufacturers has given before and this is the win from this device.
The back camera is 13 MPx, unfortunately with only 1080p 30fps video support, no 4k or 120 fps videos as we see in the most xperia z models.
CPU
The Sony Xperia C4 will carry an octa-core CPU 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53, which is fairly going to allow you run every single android application on this smartphone.
Conclusion
As the phone is not released yet, but expected to be released in June this year, I cannot say much, but from the technical specifications we have seen, the smartphone is promising to be really one of the best selfie device out there. I really hope the price is not that high though, because it is the last and may be the most important factor for the users to buy it.
The smartphone got me disappointed with no 4K video support or high fps videos, but still has an octa-core cpu, which is a win in performance.
The display is 5.5” big and the battery is 2600mAh, so I hope that this is enough, though with the Lollipop update, the battery life of many smartphones has improved.
