Sony Xperia Z4 is a continuation of a series of smartphones. The manufacturer has equipped the device with a housing with a metal frame with a thickness of only 6.9 mm (this is 0,4 mm less than the previous model) and the whole weighs 144 grams (8 grams less than the last year’s flagship). The housing meets the standards of IPX5 course / 8 and IP6X, which means that it is dust-proof and waterproof.

The heart of the smartphone is not surprisingly the 64-bit, 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 81. Which has four Cortex-A53 cores and quadcore Cortex-A57. The SoC is supported by 3 GB of RAM and the data will be able to store on 32GB eMMC, which if necessary can be expanded via microSD card with a capacity up to 128 GB. Sony Xperia Z4 still remains at full HD. The image will be displayed on the 5.2-inch display TRILUMINOS with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This certainly enjoys a lot people because – as far as we know – increasing the solutions usually translates into a negative impact on battery life. So we guess that Sony deliberately remained at full HD.
Xperia Z4 features a front webcam of 5.1 megapixels Exmor R for video calls and a camera 20.7 megapixels Exmor RS at the rear. The rear camera can record video in 4k resolution (2160p). But it lacks of support for OIS (optical image stabilization). There is only a digital stabilization. Though Sony boats that the new camera allows you to take pictures even in difficult lighting conditions, such as at night.

Technical specification of the new flagship of Sony complements the Wi-Fi 802.11 n, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB with MHL connector, the battery capacity of 2930 mAh, improved LTE modem. The model is on the Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Sony Xperia Z4 is expected to be on sale in Japan this summer, but the price of the smartphone has not yet been disclosed. The Xperia Z3 launched at $630 and it is expected the Z4 to launch at around the same price. The device will be available in four different colors: black, white, sea green and copper. On sale ther will be also a set of dedicated accessories, such as a case with a window and a stand on a desk.

The new flagship Sony does not make any special impression. Oh, another smartphone, which is a continuation of the line. Is the Japanese in general decide to introduce it on other markets. We guess that, yes, but availability and so may be limited. Among the supported languages on the system is also Polish, and this allows us to suggest that the Xperia time Z4 will also be available on the Vistula.

Xperia Z4 confirms that Sony does not specifically have an idea for a smartphone. This year Samsung has completely different approached to the issue of new smartphones and Galaxy S6 is a completely different smartphone than S5. In the case of Xperia we got stronger components and basically: that’s all.

Sony is not really doing well recently on the smartphone market. Sales of Xperia are below expectations. Last year the company sold around 38 million smartphones. For comparison: Samsung – 300 million, and LG over 60 million. Sony needs a new flagship, but the one of the real event. If you believe the rumors, then this has to be the Xperia smartphone Z5, which supposedly we will be able to see before the end of this year.

The Xperia Z4 will be launching in Japan this summer, while international availability of the model is set for June 2015.
