Samsung is getting ready to release its enormous entertainment tablet, the Galaxy View. Its massive display and special home screen filled with streaming app shortcuts make it more of a smart TV than a tablet. It has all of the functions you would expect from one of its smaller Galaxy siblings except that it’s a wi-fi only device and there is no S pen functionality. The Galaxy View’s specs include an 18.4” full 1080p display, a 2.1 megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage with a microSD card slot, and a 5700 mAh battery to power it all. From a full charge, the View’s battery is supposed to last for eight hours of constant viewing. The View also packs a 1.6GHz octa-core CPU. It comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop and can run all the apps that a normal tablet can.

There’s no sense in lugging around a tablet this big. As it’s the largest Android device ever made, it’s meant to be kept in the home and only brought from room to room. The idea is that it would be like a portable TV. You could set it up in the kitchen while you’re cooking, or bring it to bed to watch an episode of your favorite series before sleeping.

At around $500, the Samsung Galaxy View isn’t cheap. It doesn’t have the state of the art specs to even back up a price tag like that. It doesn’t have the state of the art specs to even back up a price tag like that. But what it does have is immense size, and that’s what you’re paying for. At just 120ppi, it’s not exactly QHD, but from what we’ve seen so far, the screen is still pretty crisp.

The stand on the back of the Galaxy View, which also acts as a handle, is non-removable. That means it can never lay flat, but will instead be angled when you lay it down. Samsung is experimenting with this odd product. Could this be the first of a new wave of super-sized tablets to hit the market? After the Galaxy View’s Nov. 6th release date, we’ll see if consumers and competitors follow Samsung’s lead.

Learn more about the change from the Galaxy S to the Galaxy S6 model.

Samsung Galaxy S models are known as the most popular phones from Samsung. This phone series compete mainly with the iPhone and have different editions like gold version, plus versions, dual sim versions and so on. But what do we know the Samsung Galaxy S most for? Design? Performance? Samsung Galaxy is the most successful android phone and has been even having more sales than the popular Apple iPhone, which makes it the biggest android representative.

The evolution of this phone series is something interesting to look at. How everything changed from the Galaxy S1 version and how advanced the Galaxy S6 now actually is.

Samsung Galaxy Smartphones

I have seen and using for a while all of the Galaxy S models except the S6 one. If you are disappointed from the Galaxy S6 as well you might be interested reading this article about how Galaxy S6 disappointed me and many others.

Let’s take a closer look at the picture above and see what are the main design changes. The design has changed a lot, but from the S4 to the S6 model there is no big significant change. I personally find the design of the Galaxy S2 to be most beautiful from all. When it comes to technical specifications, the S6 is the most advanced one.

All of the models except the Galaxy S6 had a lot of things in common – microSD support, removable battery, best smartphone camera when released and plastic surface. This has changed in the Galaxy S6 – no microSD, removable battery, but the expected metal surface is there and I am sure a lot of people love it as the device is unofficially “over buyed” says Samsung.

BUY SAMSUNG S6

The evolution of this brand can be only compared to the iPhone’s one and maybe the Nexus devices, but still is unique by itself. Have you seen another smartphone develop so much from it’s first version and still remain successful? Yes, the iPhone, but with Android, the Galaxy S serie is the only one. Samsung has also the Galaxy Note series which is also successful, but the category there is much different – the powerful phablets.

From a dual-core 1Ghz cpu, the Galaxy S model has developed to a device with two dual-core processors making it one of the fastest devices. Oh I forgot to mention, the Galaxy S models were also known as the fastest Android phones also (when released). The display of the first Galaxy S was 480p, now it is Quad HD and this is a remarkable change. We all must admit though, that the Galaxy S smartphone was not that thin, but was also much stronger than the S4/S5 or S6 version. Obviously Samsung has made huge upgrades, though it had its costs.

Is the Galaxy S model failing?

I’ve been thinking a lot about this question and my final answer is – no. The new Galaxy S6 has disappointed us, but when the previous 5 models were successful, I will be still waiting for the S7 version (if any). The same has happened to iPhone lots of times – disappointments and then surprises, so let’s do not forget how successful Samsung Galaxy S phone has been.

The success of the Galaxy S3

Together with the Galaxy S2, the Galaxy S3 made Samsung the #1 smartphone manufacturer. Millions and millions of sales is what those both models have brought to Samsung. The TouchWiz software was still kinda stable at this time, as well the phones stronger and for some people more beautiful. So guys, I suggest that we start praying for the S7 model and expect miracles.

BUY SAMSUNG S3

Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge – a big disappointment http://reviewtech.info/the-new-galaxy-s6-s6-edge-a-big-disappointment/ http://reviewtech.info/the-new-galaxy-s6-s6-edge-a-big-disappointment/#respond Mon, 02 Mar 2015 10:12:42 +0000 http://reviewtech.info/?p=1 See why the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge is such a disappointment. Actually even more disappointing than the Apple iPhone 6!

Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 Edge were released on 1st of March this year and honestly said I wasn’t surprised from the device. Yeah obviously the Galaxy S devices were pretty successful… until now. Why? Lack of innovation is the short answer, the long one follows.

Let’s take a look at how advanced the Galaxy S3 and even S2 devices were at their time. They had literally no competition when it came to technical comparison, the S3 had super fast quad core CPU and great design, which gave it big advantage and made it one of the most successful Samsung devices. Years have past, things have changed, now most of the phones that are coming this year cannot surprise us, that’s why they rely so much on software changes, while design and tech. specifications are forgotten.

Let’s take a closer look at the design of the new Galaxy S6, here I won’t comment the Edge version, just the normal S6 device.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Review

The first time I saw this phone I asked myself “what’s new?”. I could give an answer to that, but the problem was, that it was not satisfying. A lot of people would admit that the phone looks similar like the iPhone. You should admit it, too! There is no significant design change, the home button is the same for example. The sides are a little bit more round… and the device is finally, like really finally with metal surface! I think that this should has been the S4 or S5 version, but not the so long awaited Galaxy S6. I am not a hater, I see the facts as they exist. The design changes/improvements are not much, because Samsung makes the same mistake as Apple makes – they think that the design of their phone is good enough and it makes logic when you create models that have been the most sold smartphone devices on the earth, but exactly this move, thinking that something is enough, putting limits and leaving a lots of stuff the same, is what going to fail this phone.

By failing, I don’t say that it won’t be sold million times and that it won’t me successful from marketing side, Samsung has invested millions in this device and will win even more from it, not surprising, this is an effect of the success of the previous models.

Galaxy Note Edge vs. Galaxy S6 Edge

Now this is some kind of innovation, making the screens larger and a little bit curved. But the difference in both models – Note Edge and S6 Edge is again really little. I am sure that Samsung made the S6 Edge version, not to surprise the users with something new or give them a great device, Samsung made it to use the marketing and advertisement made for the Galaxy S6.

The good news

Yes there are some good news, some technical improvements to that we all say “Yes!” when we hear about them. The Galaxy S6 comes with 3GB ram, which is not something new, but came with the phone as expected. The display is QuadHD, 1440×2560 resolution, with quality better than the 95% of the models, but again, is this something really new and something we haven’t seen in a smartphone yet?

Another functionality that we expect to see from this phone is the wireless charging. Bad thing is that it is market dependent, but let’s wait and see.

The bad news

Non-removable battery, no microSD card slot! Oh my god! Is this some kind of a tendency in the android world? There are 200gb microSD cards coming out soon, but we can’t use them because Samsung said “we won’t include this in our phone”. Another thing which disappointed me as well is the price of the device. Though the price of the iPhone was a little bit higher when released, the price of the Galaxy S6 is too damn high for the device.
